Do Consumers Really Understand the Importance of Eco-friendly packaging?

Environmental issues especially with respect to manufacturing of Recycle PaperBoxes material have been oft highlighted. Manufacturing Eco-friendly packaging products is the main concern of Express GreenPAK and other sustainable oriented companies.

From global conferences like United Nations-REDD program, focusing on international action delivered through Joint Programs, reinforced by supporting measures at regional and global levels to combat deforestation and government campaigns to reduce green-house gas emissions (GHG)  all are concentrating on environmentally friendly initiatives.

Tropical forests are continuing to disappear at an alarming rate: between 1990 and 2005, the rate of deforestation averaged about 13 million hectares a year, occurring mostly in tropical countries. Planting of new forests as well as natural expansion of forests in some countries have resulted in a decrease in the net loss of forests. Yet we are still losing about 200 km2 of forest each day because of massive tree logging to support the pulp & paper industry.

Express GreenPAK has innovated bamboo-pulp  products which are made for the same pulp & paper industry without causing a dent on deforestation. Bamboo-pulp paper-board is less harmful if you consider the recycling and reduction of carbon footprint. As all the materials in these Recycle PaperBoxes packages can be recycled, these packages can also be recycled.

This is why many packaging companies are offering green packaging products to their customers. With people getting aware about these products through the campaigns their market is increasing. Many companies have started researching on the materials that can be used to manufacture packages. The main concentration is one the matter of reducing the carbon foot print amount in packages. The materials which have a greater chance of being renewed and recycled are now being used by the companies.

It is very unfortunate that consumers are not  punishing companies still making petroleum based packaging product and greenwash the market as renewable. International organizations like the UN-REDD and governments worldwide need to play an important role to stop such incidents. Production and use of packaging such as bubble packaging, air pillow etc which are oil based can be stopped. What works best as a packaging material is either recycle paper material derived from bamboo-pulp & paper. The environment will not be harmed by this type of packaging because it can be recycled and causes less deforestation.

Express GreenPAK designs, manufactures and distributes certified, tree-free, recycle paper packaging for food processing, retail and consumer packaging industries. Our mission is to focus on biodegradable and recycle environmentally friendly packaging like Bamboo Organic Fabric Shopping Bags that protects consumer wellness while minimizing deforestation, which has enormous ecological impact on greenhouse gas emissions (GHG). Multi-national Corporations Reaping Profits Using Biodegradable Retail Packaging.

When an international panel of judges from the 6th European Bioplastics Conference selected Danone from a shortlist of five nominees, citing the company's  "significant contribution to moving bioplastics from a niche packaging product to a mass market product, I got the understanding, at least we are making progress in protecting the planet.

Danone, a leading producer of products such as medical nutrition and baby food and the global number one manufacturer of dairy products, this year became the first major corporation to package two of their biggest brands in bio-based materials.

Today, Danone's Actimel yoghurt drink is packaged around the world in bio-HDPE , while in Germany, its Activia yoghurt cups are no longer made of PS, but from Biodegradable (PLA) Ice Cream & Yogurt Containers

According to Danone, the new PLA packaging not only has the advantage of being produced from renewable resources, but less raw materials are needed for its production, and less end-of-life waste is produced.Using  Biodegradable (PLA) Ice Cream & Yogurt Containers has led to a 43% reduction in fossil resources that are used for production. Moreover, CO2 emissions were cut by 25% according  to Danone management personnel.

Danone was 'delighted' to receive the award. Marianne Schweiger, who accepted the award on behalf of Danone, said it was "a reward for the long, often laborious years of research and work which had gone into the development of the new packaging."
We at Express GreenPAK  offers 100% biodegradable Biodegradable(PLA) Ice Cream & Yogurt Containers and  Biodegradable(PLA) Hot/Cold Cups packaging for the retail industry at affordable prices using innovative technologies and renewable resources to serve consumer wellness. These products have long shelf-life  and can be used to keep beverage and other food products   between temperatures ranging from -40(refrigeration)  to +320 micro wave oven safe.
